AnnouncementsLocals Form Business Alliance GroupTimes-Standard Business owners, local organizations and citizens have joined together to create the Humboldt County Independent Business Alliance, or HumIBA. As affiliates of the national American Independent Business Alliance, HumIBA's stated purpose is two-fold: Educate residents to build community support for independent businesses, and organize business owners to help bring their costs down and create a local environment that allows them to thrive. The first major project of the HumIBA is to publish a comprehensive directory of local, independent businesses, offering a free listing to all that qualify.
